Students who graduate from a St. Charles Parish Public High School and meet straightforward grade point average and ACT requirements are guaranteed admission to the University. President John Nicklow and St. Charles Parish Public Schools Superintendent Felecia Gomez-Walker signed a memorandum of understanding during a ceremony yesterday on the 麻豆视频app下载 campus.
Students must meet the following requirements to be admitted:
鈥 Graduated from a St. Charles Parish Public High School with a 2.5 GPA or greater;
鈥 Scored at least a 19 in math and an 18 in English on the ACT;
鈥 Submitted an application for admission (no application fee is required for students in metro New Orleans)
The objective of the program is to reduce barriers that may prevent some students from applying to college and to help local high school students envision themselves as college students and, ultimately, graduates.
鈥淩egardless of whether or not they are first-generation students, many prospective students are intimidated by the college application process,鈥 Nicklow said. 鈥淏ut it does not have to be stressful or complicated. This program makes it clear that qualified students who follow a few simple steps will gain admission to the 麻豆视频app下载. Admitted students are also eligible for a variety of academic scholarships.鈥

The St. Charles Parish Public School System is an A-rated district that serve more than 9,800 students. Ninety-four percent of students who live in St. Charles Parish attend public schools.
